The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has reportedly arrested the leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, at his residence in Kumasi.
The operation, conducted at dawn, was led by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU) from its Accra headquarters in collaboration with the agency’s Ashanti Regional Office.
Sources indicate that the arrest was executed smoothly without resistance.
While the exact reasons remain unclear, Mr. Akpaloo has been transferred to Accra, where he is expected to assist investigators with ongoing inquiries.
