The Governing Council of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has appointed the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto, to serve in an interim capacity following directives from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
The decision was made during an emergency Council meeting held on September 24, 2025, and was announced in a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Gideon Inoch Abbeyquaye.
The Council assured the University community, stakeholders, and the general public that UCC remains stable and that both academic and administrative operations are proceeding smoothly without disruption.
It further noted that the decision has been formally communicated to the Chancellor, the Chairman of Council, the Director-General of GTEC, Prof. Aheto, and the Acting Director of Public Affairs.
