Lawyers representing the Fosu Royal Family of Parkoso and Nsuta have issued a response to complaints made by Akosua Serwah Fosuh, a Germany-based woman, regarding matters related to the funeral and estate of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
In a letter dated October 1, 2025, and signed by Fati Ali-Yallah of Baba Jamal & Associates, the legal team stated that it was acting on the instructions of the Fosu Family and emphasized that Mrs. Fosuh has no authority to dictate how the family should conduct the funeral arrangements of the late musician.
The letter further claimed that although Mrs. Fosuh was once married to Daddy Lumba, she refused to return to Ghana with him when he became gravely ill about 15 years ago — an action the family considers desertion. According to the lawyers, she later presented traditional drinks to formally end the marriage, in accordance with Akan customary law.
The Fosu Family’s legal representatives also confirmed that the family recognizes Priscilla Ofori, widely known as Odo Broni, as Daddy Lumba’s wife. They noted that she lived with the late musician for over 15 years and together they had six children.
Regarding the late musician’s estate, the lawyers explained that all properties belonging to Daddy Lumba will be managed jointly by the family and his children to ensure a fair and lawful distribution. They cautioned all parties to refrain from interfering with any properties until the proper legal process has been concluded.
The statement further revealed that Baba Jamal & Associates are in possession of specific instructions left by Daddy Lumba before his passing, which will guide the family in carrying out his funeral arrangements and handling his estate affairs.
Concluding the statement, the Fosu Royal Family appealed for calm and cooperation from all parties including Akosua Serwah Fosuh and encouraged peaceful dialogue to ensure a dignified and befitting funeral for the late music icon.
