The second round, however, saw a fierce comeback from St. Augustine’s College, who surged ahead with 27 points, overtaking Mfantsipim at 24, as Opoku Ware remained on 17.
Momentum shifted once more in the Problem of the Day, where Mfantsipim’s composure and accuracy shone through. They scored an impressive 30 points, narrowly edging out Augusco’s 29, while OWASS managed 19 points.
By the fourth round, the defending champions had reasserted control, extending their lead to 46 points, with Augusco on 42 and OWASS trailing at 29.
Then came the nail-biting final round. The tension was palpable; every buzzer hit and every answer carried the weight of glory. With unshakable focus and tactical brilliance, the Botwe Boys finished strong, sealing their victory with 56 points. The hall erupted in jubilation as the final bell sounded a thunderous celebration of excellence and perseverance.
St. Augustine’s College fought valiantly to finish second with 42 points, while Opoku Ware School placed third with 29 points.
As the champions lifted the trophy to chants of “God is a MOBA!” and a sea of red-and-white flags filled the hall, joy and pride swept through the auditorium.
With this triumph, Mfantsipim School not only defends its title but cements its legacy as one of Ghana’s greatest academic powerhouses — four-time national champions and undisputed icons of the NSMQ stage.
