FIFA WCQ: 14 Black Stars players arrive for camping

The Black Stars of Ghana will officially open camp in Accra today as preparations begin for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

Otto Addo’s side will first travel to N’Djamena to face Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on September 4, before returning to host Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8.

Fourteen players reported to camp on Sunday, with the remaining squad members expected to join later on Monday.

Among those already in camp are Antoine Semenyo, Tariq Lamptey, Elisha Owusu, Ibrahim Osman, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Salis Samed, Jerry Afriyie, Joseph Anang, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Benjamin Asare, Jonas Adjetey, Ibrahim Sulemana, Mohammed Salisu, and Caleb Yirenkyi.

Otto Addo had earlier announced a 24 man squad for the two crucial qualifiers.

Ghana currently sit top of Group I after six matches as they push for a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.
