The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, has announced that government has fully settled its financial commitments to the contractor handling the Ofankor Nsawam road project.

He made this known during an inspection tour of the project with President John Mahama, noting that all outstanding arrears have been cleared, allowing for steady progress on the vital highway.

President Mahama has already urged the contractor to deliver the project on time, stressing that government will strictly enforce the June 2026 completion deadline.

Reinforcing the President’s directive, the Minister emphasized that the contractor will be held accountable to the agreed timeline.

The Ofankor Nsawam road, which serves as a major link between Accra and parts of the Eastern and Ashanti regions, has for years been burdened with stalled works and heavy traffic congestion.

Many commuters are hopeful that this renewed government commitment will finally bring lasting relief along one of the country’s busiest transport corridors.
