The wife of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has paid an emotional tribute to her husband, declaring that no falsehood or malice can diminish the legacy of their love.
In a tribute read on her behalf during the final funeral rites held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, December 13, Priscilla Ofori, widely known as Odo Broni, reflected on the honour, dignity, and joy her husband brought into her life, insisting that their bond remains unassailable despite public criticism and controversy.
“My king, my protector, if your spirit still walks among us, then let the truth itself rise as our vengeance. Let the love we share be the fire that consumes falsehood,” the tribute read.
She said the dignity with which Daddy Lumba treated her and the peace he gave her stand as enduring testimony against what she described as “every cruel tongue.”
Odo Broni stressed that she would not allow negativity to overshadow the memories they shared.
“I will not bow to their malice; I will not let their venom stain the memory of what we wore. You treated me like a queen, you gave me a family, you gave me joy. That truth is eternal, and it will outlive every lie,” she said.
Acknowledging the continued presence of her late husband in her life, she added that attempts to discredit their relationship would ultimately fail.
“Though they seek to wound me, they cannot erase the truth that I was your joy, your peace, your chosen resting place. My husband, my king, though you are gone from this earth, you remain in my heart.”
Addressing mourners directly, she emphasised that the love they shared remains untouchable despite loss or adversity.
“Though I walk alone now, I will walk with the memory of your love, which no lie, no attack, no cruelty can ever erase. Let them speak, let them try, for the lion king still reigns in spirit, and his roar will forever protect the love we shared.”
