The standoff over DStv subscription fees in Ghana has deepened.
The National Communications Authority (NCA) has confirmed receiving MultiChoice Ghana’s response to its threat to suspend the company’s authorisation, as well as its request for a detailed breakdown of the pricing model.
In a statement today, the regulator noted that it has secured key commitments from the pay-TV provider following engagements after MultiChoice’s public remarks on September 5, 2025.
MultiChoice Ghana has agreed to fully participate in the Stakeholder Committee set up by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation to review DStv pricing in the country.
The company has further pledged to comply with due process, uphold Ghanaian laws, and safeguard consumer rights.
The first meeting of the Stakeholder Committee is slated for Monday, September 8, 2025, where MultiChoice’s pricing structure will face rigorous scrutiny.
The NCA assured the public that it will continue to provide timely updates as the process moves forward.
