Telecom operator Telecel Ghana has organized a three-day Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshop in Accra for small business owners, as part of its SME Month celebration themed “Connecting the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs.”

Participants from diverse sectors including technology, agriculture, fashion, hospitality, and consulting were trained on how to leverage AI to drive growth, efficiency, and competitiveness. The sessions combined hands-on demonstrations with discussions on the future of business in an AI-driven world.

Micah Akati, founder of MidBrew AI Agency and lead trainer, introduced participants to AI applications for market research, video creation, presentations, client pitches, digital presence management, and continuous learning.

“AI is critical for emerging businesses today. Every startup should see AI as a capable companion that bridges resource gaps—whether financial or human—helping them save time and boost productivity,” he said.

Entrepreneurs shared their takeaways from the sessions. Godwin Okronipa, co-founder of Flywheel Technologies, noted that the training broadened his perspective on deploying AI tools.

“The workshop gave me more clarity on new tools and ideas to integrate into our solutions. I was especially impressed with AI tools for video creation, which will strengthen our client pitches as we scale,” he said.

For Telecel Ghana, the initiative reflects a broader strategy to equip young entrepreneurs with digital tools that fuel innovation.

Tawa Bolarin, Director of Enterprise Business at Telecel Ghana, explained:

“Our role is to give the next generation of entrepreneurs a head start by connecting them to tools that drive competitiveness. AI is no longer optional—it’s central to SME growth and survival.”

Alongside the workshop, Telecel Ghana introduced three tailored SME connectivity products:

  • Boss Plan a bundled voice, data, and social media package with a digital marketing tool.
  • One Business Mobile an all in one solution for small teams with shared data, calls, and SMS across all networks.
  • Your Business Online (Reloaded) unlimited web pages, business email, and domain registration.

Other SME Month activities include:

  • Connecting Hustles Podcast 2.0 bold conversations where young entrepreneurs share unfiltered stories of building businesses.
  • Red Pop-Ups live showcases of creative entrepreneurial talent.
  • Telecel Business Runway a platform for learning and showcasing products and services.
  • The Red Mixer a networking event for entrepreneurs and industry leaders to build partnerships and collaborations.

Entrepreneurs can access these opportunities by texting “More” to 1133.

By the close of the AI workshop, participants had mapped out strategies for AI-powered growth, leaving with a renewed understanding of machine intelligence as a key partner in scaling their startups.
