Popular Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has expressed outrage over the alleged arrest and detention of Sammy West, the elder brother of actress Regina Daniels, by her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
According to DAILY POST, Sammy West was reportedly arrested in Lagos on Sunday for his alleged involvement in Nwoko’s ongoing marital crisis. His arrest comes just a week after Regina Daniels publicly accused her husband of domestic violence and filed for divorce.
Reacting to the development, Mercy Johnson who is widely regarded as Regina’s godmother took to social media to question the circumstances surrounding Sammy’s detention and to criticize the state of Nigeria’s justice system.
She wrote:
“The worst form of injustice is pretended justice. A child was arrested, and no one has been allowed to see him for two days. He was flown from Lagos to Abuja and is allegedly being taken to court straight from the airport. How did we get here? Nigeria… Wow.”
The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with fans and industry figures calling for transparency and due process in the matter.
